Dr Narayan Karanth

Dr Narayan Karanth is a Medical Oncologist who has been providing oncology care at Darwin through Royal Darwin Hospital & Alan Walker Cancer Centre since May 2010. He also provides comprehensive Medical Oncology care through the NT Medical Specialist consulting suites and inpatient consultations at both Royal Darwin Hospital and Darwin Private Hospital and Chemotherapy services.

He also provides his service as a Lecturer at the School of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, Flinders University, Adelaide, SA. He is also actively involved in the training process of advanced as well as basic physician trainees at Royal Darwin Hospital. His special interests include breast, lung, colorectal cancer and urogenital cancers.

Dr Karanth is an overseas trained physician, who completed his Medical Oncology training (DM) at Tata Memorial Cancer centre, Mumbai India from 2004- 2007. He cleared the European Society of Medical Oncology certification course in 2007, in 2nd position globally (ECMO). Further advanced training Medical Oncology was completed (FRACP) from 2008- 2010 at Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide. Dr Karanth is an active member of RACP, ASCO, ESMO, MOGA, COSA, ALTG, AGITG, ANZBCTG, ANZUP, ICON, IACA. His pastime activities include reading, surfing and travelling.
